This Unit specialises in microcomponents and packaging for fluidic micro-devices (microvalves, micropumps, chambers, fluidic/electric interfaces, etc.). Its strategic research centres on research into technologies for lab-on-a-chip development for health and organic micro-optoelectronics applications, molecular photovoltaic applications and the development of light emission structures.

Main projects.
Lab on a chip. Real-time micro laboratory for in-situ detection in just a few minutes of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) via molecular biology reactions.
Electrophoresis. Microfluidic devices for performing the electrophoresis process, for protein separation applications.
Microdispensing components. Fluidic microdevice for focalised drug dispensing and monitoring, Microvalves and Micropumps.
Moulds for medicine microdispensing. For elastomeric type, single-use continuous and outpatient infusion.
