CIC microGUNE was legally constituted as a non-profit Association in April 2004. With the collaboration of the Basque Government and the Gipuzkoa Regional Government and backing from a leading industrial group, the Mondragon Cooperative Corporation, it pools research capacities ranging from a more scientific to a more focused basis.

Its legal structure consists of the following main bodies:

• The General Assembly, the Association’s ultimate authority, consisting of the totality of its members. It functions on a democratic basis and agreements are made by voting. Its decisions are binding for all the members.
• Board of Directors, which is the body that manages, governs and administrates the Association and executes the agreements made by the General Assembly. It is formed by a maximum of 12 members, representing all the Association’s members.

	Research Centre. The Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Técnicas de Gipuzkoa (CEIT) is a Research Organisation that was set up 1982, focusing its business on applied research by carrying out research projects focused on the production sector. www.ceit.es

	Research Centre. TEKNIKER likes to define itself as a Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technologies and Microtechnologies centre. In commonly adopted terminology, TEKNIKER is a manufacturing or industrial production and design centre. www.tekniker.es
