Fluid handling polymers components.

This comprises technical manipulation of fluids in the micro, nano and picolitre ranges, and the research focuses on microarray and biochip technology, or, more generically, lab on a chip. Generation of integral fluidic devices with structures for dealing with fluids in the micro, nano and picolitre ranges for liquids and gases, interaction between biomolecules and micro/nanostructures and development of micro-actuators for fluidic control (valves and pumps) are challenges that have been defined in this field.
